Lake Clark Alaska

Redoubt Bay Lodge, located near the entrance to Lake Clark Pass, offers the only accommodations within a 268-square mile Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Area, and is the only 5-acre privately owned property in the region!

This small, rustic lodge sits on a small knoll overlooking Big River Lakes, a chain of lakes whose waters lead to the Big River and on to Cook Inlet. Redoubt Bay Lodge is located 50 minutes southwest of Anchorage accessible by float plane. The flight offers spectacular scenic views of the Cook Inlet and the western edge of the Kenai Peninsula. The flight alone is a memorable experience, but that’s just the start of your Alaska wilderness experience.

About the Lodge

At Redoubt Bay Lodge, the emphasis is on viewing wildlife and exploring the lakes surrounding the lodge within the natural setting of the spectacular Chigmit Mountains. The bear viewing right in our front yard is excellent. Our area sees some of the earliest congregation of bears. They stay well past the lodge closing date of August 31, thanks to our rich salmon populations.

The atmosphere at Redoubt Bay Lodge is pleasantly casual and “outdoorsy”. The rustic setting is best suited for those who wish to explore a unique and wild setting. The main lodge is an historical hunting cabin that has been converted into the dining area. The lodge chefs prepare all meals at the lodge featuring locally grown produce and the finest ingredients they can source.

Three small lakeside guest cabins, a cozy hand-hewn log main lodge, and world-class staff and service make the stay at Redoubt Bay Lodge a memorable addition to your Alaskan adventure. There is a small gift shop and bar area in the day lodge, limited Wi-Fi in the main lodge and the Day Lodge, board games, and an Alaskana library to peruse. Most of the time spent here at Redoubt Bay Lodge in Lake Clark Alaska will include time exploring in the outdoors. And when you’ve had your fill for the day you can rest easily in a warm lodge and be spoiled by the chef and lodge team.

About the Owners

Redoubt Bay Lodge is family owned and operated with over 46 years of experience operating in Alaska’s most remote backcountry. Lifelong Alaskans, Doug and Kelli Brewer, have enjoyed these wilderness experiences and activities firsthand and highlight the best to share with their guests. And as the owners have recently bought out partners, they are excited to be able to announce many lodge upgrades to come. They have added and are developing new cabins for overnight guests. They will also add a new dock, remodel the main lodge, add three new pontoon boats. Together the two have fueled many businesses with their passion for Alaska, flying and the outdoors.

Their sister company Alaska West Air has grown to one of the top flying agencies in Alaska over the last 46 years, as well as their beautifully appointed vacation rental properties based near their float plane and airstrip home base in North Kenai. The two have a rich history with the Kenai Peninsula, Lake Clark Alaska and the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat areas and their desire to share Alaska with guests is as strong as their ties to their local community.
